After Jess Carter spoke out about the wave of racist abuse she received following the Euros, Spurs player Jess Naz has now raised the same issue. In her own words, she is “done being quiet.”
- Tottenham forward Jess Naz (24) revealed she was racially abused in her Instagram DMs after Spurs’ penalty shootout win over Aston Villa in the Women’s League Cup, stating she is “done being quiet.”
- In her post, Naz stressed that racism in any form is unacceptable and urged for stronger measures to prevent such incidents.
- Tottenham Hotspur condemned the abuse, calling it “disgraceful” and “cowardly.” The club confirmed it is working with authorities and social media platforms to identify and punish the offender.
- Naz has been with Spurs since 2018, after moving from Arsenal, and has started every WSL and League Cup match this season. She also holds six England caps.
- The incident comes amid a troubling pattern of racist abuse in football:
• In August, Liverpool v Bournemouth was halted when Antoine Semenyo reported racist abuse from the stands.
• Tottenham’s Mathys Tel was targeted online after a missed penalty in the Super Cup vs PSG.
• England defender Jess Carter received abuse during Euro 2025, which contributed to the national team ending the pre-match act of taking the knee.
