Amaya García Gómez is a Spanish footballer who plays as a central defender. She is a Spain youth international who has represented her country at youth international levels.
She fell for football at around five years old, playing with her brothers, friends and local boys before joining CF Pozuelo at six.
Football always won out over other childhood toys for her. Even when her mother gave her dolls or traditionally girls' games, García preferred playing football with her brothers and friends.
Her entire family supported Real Madrid while she was growing up, and she described herself as a Madridista for as long as she could remember.
Her father was not originally much of a football fan, but García's career changed that. By 2024, she said he never missed one of her matches.
One of her biggest childhood ambitions was to play at the Santiago Bernabéu for Real Madrid's women's first team.
