Civana Grace Kuhlmann is an American professional football player who most recently played as a forward for the Washington Spirit in the National Women's Soccer League.
At 14, she became the youngest U.S. player to score in a U-17 match.
She is the only U.S. player to score a hat trick in the U-17 World Cup.
She has endured three major surgeries (ACL, meniscus, and hip) in college but never gave up on her dream to be a professional football player.
She saw the adversity as an opportunity to reshape her journey and to inspire others to persevere.
She has an older sister, Ciara, who played football at Midland University.
She is passionate about mental health awareness, especially after the loss of her Stanford teammate Katie Meyer. She supports a nonprofit created in Katie's name.
She has a bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies from Stanford University.
She also has a master's degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of Colorado Boulder.
Both of her parents played basketball in college.
In July 2023, she suffered a season-ending knee injury during training.
She started playing football when she was four years old, influenced by her athletic family.
She decided to go to Stanford in middle school when she saw their 2011 championship win.
She loves Colorado where she comes from.
She has a pet dog.
