Emma Johnson

Sport runs in her family: her father, Brian, played college baseball at Marian University, while her older brother, Brandon, played soccer at the University of Indianapolis.

She attended schools in the Mount Vernon system from kindergarten through her freshman year before moving to online education to devote more time to soccer.

She joined professional side Lexington SC as an academy player, which allowed her to gain senior experience while retaining her NCAA eligibility.

Penn State immediately felt like home to her, and she was especially attracted by the university’s sense of community and pride.

Emma considers her mother, Lisa, her best friend and lifelong role model, crediting her as her biggest cheerleader and for making major sacrifices to support her journey.
