Sofía Ortiz

She loves to travel and she particularly enjoys visiting Morocco.

Her first senior season included a major setback. Ortiz suffered a non-displaced fracture of the tibia and fibula during the clásico vallecaucano against Deportivo Cali on March 1, 2025, and underwent successful surgery.

She leaned heavily on her faith after suffering an injury in March 2025. Ortiz wrote on Instagram that although the recovery had not been easy, she trusted God had “great things” ahead for her and that “His timing is perfect.”

In July 2024, she travelled to Morocco with Colombia U17 and started both friendlies as the team returned home unbeaten with a win and a draw.

She was already training with Colombia U20 while still eligible for the U17s. Ortiz joined the final preparation camp ahead of the 2024 U20 Women's World Cup when she was only 16.
