Brenda Cardona

Cardona has faced ACL surgery twice in her young career, describing the setbacks as experiences that have taught her resilience and helped her become a stronger version of herself.

During her ACL recovery, Cardona said one of her biggest motivations was knowing she still had much to give to her country, her club and especially her family.

She was already being selected for Llaneros' senior matchday squad at just 12 years old and she could have become the youngest player to debut in Colombian professional women's football if she entered the match against Fortaleza.

At 15, Cardona was the youngest registered player in the 2024 Liga Femenina.

Cardona won the 2025 UEFA Friendship Cup WU18 with Colombia, captaining the team in their group-stage match against Thailand.
