Carolina Simões

Simões has already enjoyed major success at youth level, winning the 2022/23 Taça Nacional Sub-15 and the 2023/24 Liga Feminina Sub-19 with Benfica.

She can play both central defence and defensive midfield, although she has developed primarily as a defender.

Despite developing as a centre-back and defensive midfielder, Simões scored an impressive 17 goals in 40 Benfica appearances in 2021/22, when she was just 14.

Simões scored the final goal from the penalty spot in Portugal’s 3-1 win over Finland in February 2024, the victory that secured the country a place at the U17 European Championship.
