Megan Jane Connolly is an Irish footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder and defender. She has represented the Republic of Ireland at U17, U19, and senior international level.
Connolly grew up in Turners Cross, Cork, and started playing football with College Corinthians when she was six years old.
Before focusing fully on football, she also played Gaelic football and helped Cork win the Munster U16 Ladies Championship in 2012.
She earned a four-year scholarship to Florida State University, where she studied sports management while playing NCAA soccer.
Her older brother Luke also played both association football and Gaelic football in Cork.
Connolly joined Lazio because she wanted a move that would help her develop as a player while also giving her a key role within a club's long-term project.
She has described Rome as a city where "you can turn any corner and find a new landmark," and enjoys exploring its restaurants and culture.
