Maithé López

Football won the childhood toy battle early. Her father remembers that she was never interested in dolls and always wanted a football instead.

López was not always a striker. She first played centre-back, moved to full-back and eventually found her home in attack.

Linda Caicedo is a player whose career path she admires, and López has spoken about dreaming of following her to Real Madrid one day.

Her professional career started with a goal. López scored in the 37th minute of her Real Santander debut against Deportivo Pereira in June 2024.
