Gisela Robledo Gil is a Colombian footballer who plays as a forward or attacking midfielder. She represents Colombia at senior international level and has also played for Colombia’s U17 and U20 teams.
Robledo was born in Guacarí, Valle del Cauca, and started playing football at four years old.
Her mother initially resisted football because she saw it as a boys’ sport, but Robledo kept playing with help from her brother and aunt.
At around 11, she jumped into a boys’ match when one player was missing, and the boys stopped laughing once she showed what she could do.
Her global football role models include Alex Morgan and Cristiano Ronaldo.
In Colombia, she has looked up to Catalina Usme and Carolina Pineda.
She and Linda Caicedo go way back: Gisela described them as “uña y mugre,” a Colombian phrase for being inseparable.
