She has a twin sister who also plays football.

Early Start: Mariasun began her football journey playing with her twin sister, Nekane, in their hometown of Hondarribia. They would often play together, with Nekane shooting and Mariasun in goal

She progressed through local clubs, starting with Hondarribia FE and later joining CD Mariño, where she achieved promotion to the Segunda División.

From 2014 to 2021, she played for Real Sociedad, accumulating 147 appearances and winning the Copa de la Reina in 2019. She was named MVP in the final against Atlético Madrid .

In 2021, Mariasun signed with Athletic Club on a three-year contract, continuing her career in the Primera División Femenina.

She has represented Spain at various levels, including the U20 World Cup in 2016 and the senior national team in the 2017 UEFA Women's Euro and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Growing up, the sisters shared a deep passion for football, often training and playing together, which fostered a strong sibling connection both on and off the field.

Mariasun is part of the #TwoFiveSquad, a group of professional goalkeepers sponsored by the sports brand TwoFive.

Known for her quick reflexes and commanding presence in the box, Mariasun has been a key figure in Athletic Club's defensive lineup.
