Olivia Maria Katarina Wänglund is a Swedish midfielder who plays for Vittsjö GIK in Damallsvenskan. She has also represented Sweden at youth level, including within the U19 EURO qualification cycle.
Before football became her main path, she played badminton for Sweden from U13 all the way up to U19.
She started badminton because her older sister played, and it felt natural to try it too.
She has played both the U17 European Championship and the U19 World Championship in badminton.
She began playing football in Selånger FK, and later described making her senior debut at 14 in Division 1.
She has shared that her thyroid situation “almost” made her stop playing football, and that what she thought was laziness turned out to be an incorrect hypothyroidism treatment.
