Barbora Votíková is a Czech professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Slavia Prague and the Czech Republic national team. She previously played for Czech clubs Viktoria Pilsen, Tottenham Hotspur and French club Paris Saint-Germain.
Her role model during childhood was Czech player Milan Baroš.
She has her own fashion brand called Galactico.
She played in three European counties - apart from her native Czech Republic, she also played in France and England.
Her biggest inspiration is her grandpa, who coached her when she was young and also also introduced her to football.
She torn her ACL in April 2022 in UWCL semifinal game PSG vs. Lyon and then missed whole year until she fully recovers (she played next game after injury in April 2023).
During the years 2016-2021, she was six times straight in TOP10 Czech Footballer of the Year. In all these years, she was highest ranked Czech goalkeeper.
She debuted in the Czech Republic national team in October 2014 in a game against Poland, when she was only 18 years and 1 month old.
She published an autobiography (called „Barbora Votíková: Trochu jinak“) in 2019, where she publicly did her coming out as a lesbian.
She has her own YouTube channel with over 490K subscribers and more than 120 videos about her life and career.
Votíková joined Spurs last summer off the back of a two-year spell with French giants Paris Saint-Germain. The 27-year-old Czechia international went on to make six appearances for Spurs in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
In her short time in North London, Votíková helped Spurs to record a sixth-place finish in last season’s Barclays Women’s Super League while she was a member of the team that reached the Adobe Women’s FA Cup final for the very first time.
