Chihiro Ishida (石田 千尋) is a Japanese midfielder who has represented Japan at youth level.
She moved abroad with a clear long-term goal: playing in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Ishida said the “spark” for that dream came when she watched a Women’s Champions League match in Paris during a JFA Academy Fukushima trip in her final year of high school, and she was blown away by the atmosphere around the women’s game.
She finds meals in the Netherlands are often bread/pasta-heavy, and because she wants to eat rice “as much as possible,” she cooks dinner when she’s craving it.
She studies Dutch through online lessons twice per week, and she tries to ask teammates what phrases mean in everyday conversation.
