Chinatsu Kira is a Japanese forward who has represented Japan at senior international level and has played club football in Japan, Australia, Spain, and the Netherlands, and was part of the Japan squad that won the 2014 AFC Women’s Asian Cup.
She developed as a youth player at Kamimura Gakuen High School before beginning her professional career.
Kira joined Urawa Reds in 2010 and went on to spend ten seasons with the club.
She won the Nadeshiko League Best Young Player award in 2011.
She was part of the Japan squad that won the 2014 AFC Women’s Asian Cup.
When joining Melbourne City she said: “Australia was the first country I ever visited, and I still would consider it to be my favourite country.”
