Hitomi Tanaka is a Japanese defender who has played professionally in Spain and the Netherlands and has represented clubs including Fundación Albacete, SE AEM, Sporting de Huelva, and HERA United.

Tanaka spent several seasons with Fundación Albacete in Spain’s women’s football system between 2017 and 2022.
During the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons she played in Spain’s Primera División with Albacete.
After leaving Albacete she continued playing in Spain with clubs including SE AEM and Sporting de Huelva.
In July 2024 she joined Sporting de Huelva, competing in Spanish domestic competitions including the Copa de la Reina.
In August–September 2025 she moved to the Netherlands and signed with HERA United in the Dutch Vrouwen Eredivisie
