Léa Khelifi is a French attacking-midfielder currently playing for Nantes in France’s top-tier women’s league (Première Ligue). A former France international, she combines technical quality and experience at club level for one of the league’s emergent sides.
At just 16, Khelifi made her senior debut for Metz in 2015 and scored a hat-trick.
After three seasons at Montpellier, she felt it was time for a fresh start to rediscover joy in football.
She grew up in Behren-lès-Forbach, discovering football in the city-stade playing outside “all the time” with her big brother and local boys, and she stayed in mixed teams until age 15.
She comes from a Franco-Algerian family.
Her childhood idol was France playmaker Louisa Nécib, and she also cites Dzsenifer Marozsán and Delphine Cascarino as modern inspirations she studies for their style of play.
Away from the pitch, she describes herself as a big fan of fashion and shopping, and says recharging means spending relaxed, simple time with people she loves.
