Marianne Martínez Valdepeñas is a Mexican footballer who plays as a midfielder.
She is from Torreón, so she is one of Santos Laguna Femenil’s homegrown laguneras.
She has spoken warmly about mentoring younger players, saying she tries to motivate Santos’ Sub-18 players by giving them advice so they can keep improving.
Her love of sport started at home, inspired by the example set by her parents.
She describes herself as noble, fun, friendly, and easygoing.
Football first came into her life through her dad, who was a player, and some of her earliest memories are of going to his games as a child.
Before fully committing to football, she did gymnastics.
She had to convince her dad to let her play football, and finally started at eight years old.
Off the pitch, she is happiest keeping things calm: staying at home, watching movies, grabbing coffee, and going to the cinema.
