Arsenal Women won 3–0 away at OH Leuven in the Women’s Champions League group stage finale, securing a positive end to the group phase, even though they didn't make it to the top four. Olivia Smith opened the scoring in the 18th minute, Beth Mead doubled the lead in the 27th, and Saar Janssen scored an own goal in the 67th minute to complete the win. For Smith it was first UWCL goal ever. 

Despite the win, Arsenal finished fifth in the group phase, meaning they progress to the Champions League knockout playoffs instead of securing an automatic quarter-final spot.

First UWCL clean sheet for Anneke Borbe

The German goalkeeper found herself under a lot of pressure. She joined Arsenal as a free agent in the summer, but didn't get any playing time until December. Unfortunately, Daphne van Domselaar will be out for the entire month of December with an injury, and Manu Zinsberger has torn her ACL. Borbe made her debut in the match against Liverpool, which Arsenal won 2-1.

Twente, who awaited the Gooners in the Champions League, may be a weaker opponent on paper, but their match against Chelsea shows that they should not be underestimated. It was Borbe's debut in the Champions League, and she immediately kept a clean sheet. Arsenal won 1-0.

OL Lyoness remain unbeaten in UWCL

Lyon is historically one of the most successful teams in the Champions League. And although it won its last title in 2022, it remains one of the most feared opponents. It did not shy away from the match at Manchester United, from where it brought home a 3-0 victory.
