Ásla Johannesen is a Faroese professional footballer who plays as a left-back. She represents Faroe Islands national team.
Johannesen was born in Klaksvík, the second-largest town in the Faroe Islands and a major hub for Faroese football.
She is one of the few Faroese women to play professionally in the Swedish Damallsvenskan, making her debut for Piteå IF in February 2023.
She reached a significant international milestone by scoring 4 goals in 5 matches during the 2023–2024 UEFA Women's Nations League C.
During her time at FC Nordsjælland, she helped the team secure a third-place finish in the Danish Elitedivisionen.
In the 2025 Damallsvenskan season, she was one of Piteå’s most consistent performers, appearing in all 26 league matches and logging over 2,200 minutes.
She holds the record for being one of the top scorers for the Faroe Islands in UEFA-sanctioned competitive fixtures.
Ásla is in a long-term relationship with Birita Joensen, together they have 3 beautiful babies.
