Guðný Árnadóttir is an Icelandic professional footballer who plays as a defender for Kristianstads DFF in Sweden’s top division, the Damallsvenskan and the Iceland national team.
She identifies as a "country girl" (sveitastelpa) at heart, having grown up in a rural area of Iceland before moving to major cities for her football career.
Árnadóttir made her senior international debut for Iceland at just 17 years old in a match against Norway in January 2018.
She spent three seasons in Italy playing for AC Milan and Napoli Femminile before making the move to Sweden.
In October 2025, it was announced that she would be taking a break from football due to pregnancy.
She reached the milestone of 40 senior international caps for Iceland during the 2025 season.
Árnadóttir was part of the Iceland squad selected for the UEFA Women's Euro 2025 tournament.
