Alexandra began her football journey at the Haukar academy at the age of six.
Before focusing exclusively on football, she was a multi-sport athlete who practiced gymnastics and played handball frequently during her youth.
In May 2019, she graduated from Flensborgarskóli, a secondary school located in Hafnarfjörður, Iceland.
Jóhannsdóttir joined Kristianstads DFF in January 2025, becoming the fourth Icelandic player in the squad at that time.
Johannsdottir has significant experience in the Italian Serie A, having made 63 appearances and scoring 10 goals for Fiorentina between 2022 and 2025.
She reached a significant milestone in her national career by being called up to the Iceland squad for the UEFA Women's Euro 2025 tournament.
During her tenure at Breiðablik, she maintained a high scoring rate for a midfielder, recording 40 goals in 74 appearances.
