Sadie Sider Echenberg is a Canadian professional footballer who plays as a defender for Kristianstads DFF in Sweden’s top division, the Damallsvenskan.
She was born in Ottawa, Ontario, and holds dual Canadian and Israeli citizenship.
Sider Echenberg started playing soccer at the age of three with the Ottawa St. Anthony Futuro Academy.
Growing up, she played on both girls' and boys' teams at her youth academy until the age of 17.
She attended Glebe Collegiate Institute in Ottawa, where she also competed in rugby and tennis.
In 2023, she became the youngest goalscorer in the history of the French club Le Havre AC while playing in Division 1 Féminine.
She is a Computer Science major at the University of South Florida and completed a technical internship as a Power BI developer in 2025.
Her favorite pre-match meal is pasta.
She considers herself a "night owl" but has publicly stated she is trying to shift toward being an early bird.
Growing up, her football idols included Santi Cazorla, Andrés Iniesta, Bernardo Silva, and Daniëlle van de Donk.
She represents the Canada women's national futsal team and helped them qualify for the first-ever FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup by winning the 2025 CONCACAF Championship.
She is bilingual and speaks both English and French fluently.
Outside of football, she enjoys hiking, reading, and exploring cities for the best coffee and matcha.
