María Catharína Ólafsdóttir Grós is a Swedish-Icelandic midfielder who plays for Djurgårdens IF in Sweden’s Damallsvenskan. She has represented Iceland at youth level and has been called into an Iceland senior national-team camp.
She was born in Iceland and grew up there.
Her father is Icelandic and her mother is Swedish.
She remains eligible to represent either Iceland or Sweden internationally, and says she feels “a bit more Icelandic.”
Her long-term goal has included becoming an architect alongside pursuing professional football.
She started playing football at seven years old and told her mom at eight that she wanted to become a professional footballer.
