Meja Sofia Staffansson is a Swedish midfielder who plays for Djurgårdens IF in the Damallsvenskan.
She comes from a real sports family: her dad Iztok played men’s football at elite level (including Halmstads BK and Ljungskile), her mum Anna is a physiotherapist who has worked with Sweden’s alpine ski team, and her younger sister Thea plays for Halmstads BK.
Before the move north, she was developed in Söndrum at BK Astrio, then played for Laholms FK before joining Halmstads BK.
In her final season at Halmstads BK (2023), she scored three goals—and one of them was voted the club’s “goal of the year.”
