Catherine Joan Bott is a New Zealand professional footballer who plays as a left-back for English Women's Super League club Leicester City FC and the New Zealand women's national team.
Recently she got engaged to her love, Ryan Preston.
CJ Bott is commonly known by her initials, "CJ."
She began her football career to avoid joining the school choir (that was the activity that all of the girls did).
Bott has played for clubs in Germany, Sweden, Norway, and England, including FF USV Jena, Vittsjö GIK, Vålerenga, and Leicester City.
CJ moved out from her home at the age of 16 to follow her dreams of becoming a pro.
During 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup she broke her arm in the second game of the group stage against Canada.
CJ loves to travel in her downtime, especially with her fiancé.
She scored her first full international goal — a powerful strike from 35 metres — against Argentina at the 2019 Cup of Nations in Brisbane, Australia, on 3 March 2019.
She started playing football with her older brother.
