Ebony Salmon is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Women's Super League club Aston Villa.
Ebony’s earliest football memories involve watching her older brothers, Leon and Levi, play for their local team managed by their dad while she kicked a ball around on the sidelines, trying to join in.
She grew up in Kingswinford in the West Midlands and her first team was Gornal Colts, where she stayed with the boys’ team until the age of 14, when she first went to Villa academy. She was at Aston Villa for four years in total, through the academy, youth system and then into the first team.
She has captained England's under-17s and under-23s, and made her senior international debut in February 2021. She considers it her biggest achievement.
In the summer of 2021, Ebony Salmon moved to the United States to advance her career. She believes this decision was crucial for her professional and personal growth, despite the challenges of adapting to a new playing style and lifestyle.
She says her worst habit is falling asleep all the time. "Even when I have stuff to do, I am always napping. Sometimes I have nothing to do and it is fine but sometimes I have actually got stuff to do and I will still be napping!"
Her favorite quote is 'You are your only limit'. She explains: "I think for me there are a lot of things which possibly could have got in the way and I think at the end of the day, you are the only person who is going to stop you from getting to where you want to be, no matter whatever is on the outside."
Her favorite place she's been on holiday is Jamaica where her father's family come from so she feels a special connection there.
Her worst fear are spiders.
