Helmi Raijas is a Finnish footballer who plays as a defender for Växjö DFF in Sweden’s top division, the Damallsvenskan and the Finland national team.
Raijas grew up in the Vuosaari district of Helsinki and lived there for the first 18 years of her life before moving to Töölö to live independently.
She began her football journey at the local club FC Viikingit before continuing her development with Valtti and HFA Märsky.
In 2023, she was honored as Finland's most promising young female footballer.
She speaks some Swedish and has expressed a desire to expand her vocabulary while living and playing in Sweden.
She has expressed interest in continuing her education, noting that Växjö’s local university provides a good opportunity to balance studies with professional football.
She described her time at HJK (Helsinki) as a "second home" and credited the staff and teammates for her growth as both a player and a person.
