Karoliny Beatriz Pereira de Assis Araújo

Karoliny Araújo started playing football at just four years old, encouraged by her mother, Lady Laura.

Before becoming a goalkeeper, Karoliny grew up playing outfield — but once she discovered the goal, she fell in love with the position.

Karol came through Esporte na Cidade, a social football project at Arena Independência that gives girls free training, uniforms and boots.

Karol later returned to the same project as an example for younger girls, speaking about her challenges in sport alongside her mother, Lady Laura.

One of her public mottos is: “If you are going to give up, give up fear — never the dream.”
