Tamires Santos de Souza, known in football as Mimi, is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a defender.
She became known in football simply as Mimi — a nickname that now works almost like her football name.
Before becoming a professional defender, Mimi first played in a futsal school at the age of 12.
The number 30 became one of Mimi’s signatures at Corinthians — so much so that the club later called her its “eternal camisa 30.”
Mimi helped re-record “Futebol Feminino,” a song from the 1940s connected to the era when women’s football was banned in Brazil.
Family is one of Mimi’s biggest anchors — she once called it “a life jacket in the rough sea of life” and has celebrated the joy of having her loved ones by her side after a Corinthians win.
