Lucia Charlotte Kendall is an English midfielder who has represented England from youth level through to the senior team.
She is from Winchester and her first grassroots team was Winchester City Flyers, where she joined the under-9s at about six or seven years old.
Her first football memory is playing in the park with her dad, brother and sister before joining a team.
Before fully choosing football, she also played cricket to a very high level, representing Hampshire and England age-group cricket until she was 16.
Outside football, she studies psychology part-time and it helps her switch off from the game.
She learned to play the piano when she was young.
She grew up as a Chelsea fan and has said Frank Lampard was her favourite player when she was younger.
Breaking into the England national football team setup is never easy - but Lucia Kendall has made it look exactly that. The 21-year-old Aston Villa midfielder has quickly caught the attention of Sarina Wiegman with her energetic and composed performances in the Women's Super League this season. But while she looks like the complete footballer, it wasn’t always football for the youngster from Winchester.
In a dominant 3-0 victory over Australia women's national football team, Sarina Wiegman lauded young debutant Lucia Kendall for her standout performance, yet her post-match high was overshadowed when forward Michelle Agyemang was stretchered off with what appeared to be a serious knee injury.
