Her twin sister, Malena, is also a footballer, currently at Valencia CF.

Samara is passionate about music, she listens to it daily and also visits concerts, for example Leiva's and Alicia Kyes's.

The best way for her to ease her mind? Reading. She often shares book recommendations, including The Mamba Mentality by Kobe Bryant

Samara is a coffee drinker.

In her free time, she is still physically active, doing wall climbing for example.

She's currently studying at Unisport Management School.

Ortiz was born in Spain to a Cuban mother and a Spanish father.

Retains deep Cuba ties - both she and Malena send gear to Cuba to help football development.

She studied for a degree in Environmental Science at the University of Alcalá.

Ortiz began her career at Rayo Vallecano’s academy with her twin sister, later playing for CD Canillas and its successor, CD Tacón — the club that evolved into Real Madrid.

Samara became a citizen of Azerbaijan in 2014 and, on 13 September, she made her debut for their under-19 team in a match against Ukraine.
