Vera's parents first signed her up for ballet. In dance classes from time to time she would shoot the balls they had there. The teachers already realized that her thing was football and not ballet.

Martínez has studies in social integration and dietetics, as well as psychology.

On 31 March 2019, Vera Martínez played for the first time at Mendizorroza Stadium, the venue for the men's team, in a historic match as it was the first time the stadium was opened for the women's team.

Vera loves dogs.
