Camara is the third of four siblings. Her father is Guinean and her mother is Senegalese.

Football first became part of her life through her two older brothers, who played in the playground and park before heading to training. She wanted to do the same.

Despite reaching Barcelona's first team, she has continued living in Can Puiggener, the neighbourhood where she grew up.

Away from football, she is studying a higher vocational qualification in Social Integration by distance learning. She has also considered continuing into a university degree in Social Education. Her interest in social integration is closely connected to growing up in a neighbourhood where she feels opportunities can be limited.

Two of her biggest defensive role models are Mapi León and Wendie Renard. Mapi also became an important source of help as Camara settled into Barcelona's senior squad.
