Ewa Pajor is a Polish professional footballer who plays as a striker for Liga F club Barcelona and the Poland national team.
At the age of 8, she began with training at the OrlÄta Wielenin.
At the age of 15, Ewa became the youngest player ever to play in the top Polish women's league - Ekstraliza.
When she scores a goal for the national team, she always kisses the badge afterwards.
She also used to play volleyball and basketball during her childhood and teenage years.
She received a warm welcome from fellow Polish and Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski, who wished her luck at the club. They are both captains of Polish national team.
She looks up to Lewandowski as a striker and has learned a lot from watching him play.
Her favourite food is seafood.
She is the leading figure in Zagrajmy to po swojemu, a Polish documentary film about Polish women footballers who made it to the big tournament for the first time in 2024.
She is the first player to score a hat-trick in El ClĂĄsico. Specifically, it happened on March 6, 2025.
As captain, she helped the Polish national team qualify for Euro 2025 for the first time, scoring 4 goals and assisting 3 in the barrage.
Five unsuccessful Champions League finals. Reaching the biggest match in womenâs football so many times was already an achievement in itself, Â yet the Polish star always walked away defeated. Until one May evening in Oslo in 2026.
She is Polandâs captain and Barcelona rely on her goalscoring instinct â but she is not Robert Lewandowski. Womenâs football is on the rise in Poland, which celebrated its first-ever major tournament appearance in the summer of 2025 and set a league Ekstraliga attendance record the season before. Ewa Pajor has undoubtedly played a major part in that growth.
Â
What a way to start a new year. Barcelona kicked off 2026 in sensational fashion as they dismantled Madrid CFF 12:1 at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, delivering a goal-fest that showcased their attacking firepower and depth right from the first whistle. Ewa Pajor helped with four goals, young star Sydney Schertenleib scored twice.Â
The captain of the Lionesses and Arsenal youth academy graduate, who fulfilled two dreams this year. She has been playing for Arsenal since she was eight, when she joined the club's academy. And this year, she brought the Champions League trophy back to England with the club she loves after 18 years. As if that weren't enough, two months later Williamson led England to defend their title at the Euros, becoming the first England captain to win the title on foreign soil.
The young star of Barcelona and Spain became the top scorer in the Champions League this year. And her successes continue into the new seasonâfor example, she recently helped Spain win the Nations League final with two goals. At only 24, she still has a great deal ahead of her, and it wouldnât be surprising if this outstanding forward climbs even higher in the top 100 now that sheâs firmly established herself for both Barcelona and Spain.
The top scorer in Liga F, she has surpassed Spanish stars such as Pina, Putellas, and BonmatĂ in terms of goals scored. Although she is still waiting for her first Champions League title, Pajor has had a successful year. In addition to her scoring successes in Barcelona, she also did well in the national team. Thanks mainly to her efforts, Poland qualified for the Euros for the first time, where they were not among the favorites, but still managed to defeat the much more favored Denmark.
Long overshadowed by Alexia Putellas and Aitana BonmatĂ for both club and country, her years of orchestrating play frequently went unnoticed. Now, however, she has begun adding goals to her repertoire, making her an even more intimidating challenge for opponents. An injury disrupted the latter part of her year, and both Barcelona and Spain clearly feel her absence when sheâs not on the pitch. She breaks into the top 10 for the first time, after placing 13th last year and 11th in 2023. She is currently injured, but fans of both Barca and Spain are exciting for her comeback.
The only representative of the American NWSL on the list. Chawinga will at last have the chance to showcase her talent on a continental stage when she represents Malawi at next yearâs Africa Cup of Nations â a reward she has more than earned. Building on an outstanding first season in the NWSL, the Kansas City Current forward netted 15 goals to claim her second Golden Boot as she helped lead her team to the NWSL Shield. Sadly, her Current lost in playoff to NY Gotham.Â
Hampton was also voted BBC Player of the Year by fans. No wonder. The player, who as a child was told by doctors that she should never play sports, was Chelsea's unshakeable number one this year, winning the domestic treble and securing the title for England at Euro She became a heroine when she saved two penalty kicks, especially the final one.
La Reina, as Putellas is also known, has fully put her injury troubles in the past, reclaiming her starring role for both Barcelona and Spain in 2025. Her 16 league goals and 11 assists last season outshone her teammates as the club marched to further domestic triumphs. She continued her strong form at Euro 2025, though she fell just short of leading Spain to their first European crown
She scored the first and last goals for the Lionesses this year. But that's not Russo's only achievement. The 26-year-old Englishwoman shone at Arsenal and in the national team, celebrating success with both. This includes her individual careerâshe became the WSL's top scorer. She celebrated the Champions League title with Arsenal, and her goal in the Euro final sent the match into a penalty shootout, where the English women defended their 2022 victory. She has also been successful in front of goal this year, scoring four goals in the Champions League.Â
Arsenal's magician. Caldenteyâs finest season to date has earned her a career-best ranking. After narrowly missing out on the top 10 last year. Playing a pivotal role in Arsenalâs Champions League triumph and standing out for Spain during their run to the Euro 2025 final where she scored and opened the score for Spain.
Winner of the Golden Ball in 2025, when she became the first player ever to achieve a hattrick. She earned Uefaâs Champions League Player of the Season award for 2024-25 and was also honoured as Player of the Tournament at Euro 2025. While remaining central to Barcelonaâs domestic dominance, she also delivered in decisive moments â including providing the spark Spain needed in their Euro semi-final against Germany.
Despite initial fears, Ewa Pajor did not suffer an ACL injury in Sundayâs match. However, she will still be sidelined for several weeks.
Â
Last season's top scorer Ewa Pajor left the court early on Sunday. It could be an ACL injury.Â
At the Johan Cruyff Stadium, FC Barcelona tore apart Bayern Munich in their UCL Group Stage opener, storming to a commanding 7:1 win. Alexia Putellas curled home the opener inside 4 minutes, followed by goals from Ewa Pajor, Esmee Brugts and Salma Paralluelo to take a 4â1 lead by half-time. In the second half, Pajor struck again before substitutes ClĂ udia Pina completed a brace, capping a ruthless performance. Bayernâs lone reply came in the first half from Klara BĂŒhl, but they were overrun thereafter.
Barcelona defended local pride in style, beating Espanyol 2â0 in the derby with goals from Alexia and Ewa Pajor. The night was made even more special with the club celebrating its stars â Pajor lifted her top scorer trophy, Aitana marked her third Ballon dâOr, and Vicky showed off her Kopa â all amid dominant performances across midfield and attack.
FC Barcelona FemenĂ continues to energize the womenâs game, combining explosive performances with strategic squad changes and forward-thinking leadership. After a commanding 8â1 victory over Athletic Clubâhighlighted by a wonder goal from Patri Guijarro and a brace each from Aitana BonmatĂ and Vicky LĂłpez - who dedicates all her goals to her late mom, who passed when LĂłpez was a little girl.Â
FC Barcelona roared back into action with an unstoppable displayâcrushing newly promoted Alhama CF 8â0 at the Johan Cruyff Stadium. Caroline Graham Hansen struck twice, Aitana BonmatĂ, Ewa Pajor, and Ona Batlle added to the rout, and substitute ClĂ udia Pina capped her entry with a dramatic hat-trick. The dominant result, celebrated amidst the squadâs official presentation and fan festivities, sets a powerful tone for Barçaâs 2025/26 Liga F campaign.
On the third day of the European Championship, Sweden will face Denmark. They will have the chance to avenge their 6-1 and 5-1 defeats in the Nations League, where Sweden beat their Nordic neighbors twice. Newcomers to the competition, Poland, will face Germany. They will have a very difficult task, as Germany is historically the most successful team in the Euro. Which players to focus on?
Denmark - Pernille Harder
Once the most expensive player in the world, a Ballon d'Or nominee, and captain of the Danish team, she is known for her incredible goal-scoring instinct. She has been very successful at club level, with every team she has played for over the last ten seasons winning the title. What's more, she will be playing against her fiancée Magdalena Eriksson, who plays for Sweden.
Sweden - Stina Blackstenius
Who else but the heroine of this year's Champions League final? In the last match between Sweden and Denmark, which took place a month ago in Stockholm, she scored a hat trick against Denmark. Blackstenius also made her mark a few days ago against Norway. Blackstenius is proving that those who doubted her were wrong.
Poland - Ewa Pajor
With 25 goals, Ewa Pajor is the top scorer of the last season in League F. Not BonmatĂ, not Putellas, but Pajor from Poland. She is the first player ever to score a hat trick in the women's El ClĂĄsico. She also played a major role in Poland's participation in the European Championship, helping the team advance in the playoffs.
Germany - Ena Mahmutovic
Perhaps a slightly unusual choice for Player to Watch. Mahmutovic is not Germany's number one goalkeeper, but she is definitely a player who will be talked about in the future. The Bayern Munich player stepped in for their traditional number one, Mala Grohs, who was undergoing treatment for a tumor during the season. And she succeededâthanks in part to the young goalkeeper, Bayern won the title. Now she has received her first nomination for the Euro. Definitely a promise of a successful future.
In a recent interview, Ewa Pajor expressed her amazement at playing for FC Barcelona, stating, "Sometimes I'm at home and it's like: wow I play for Barcelona." She discussed the anticipation of facing her former club, Wolfsburg, in the upcoming Champions League quarter-finals.
Pajor reflected on her journey from Wolfsburg to Barcelona and the emotions tied to competing against her previous team. She emphasized her commitment to contributing to Barcelona's success in the Champions League.
Ewa Pajor is the Estrella. The new Barça striker was named player of the match at the Women's Gamper on Friday evening. The fourth edition of the event was as much a party atmosphere as the three previous ones, and the star of the night at the Estadi Johan Cruyff was the home side's new Polish international forward, scoring the first goal of the 2-0 defeat of AC Milan in her first game in front of her new home fans.
Barça's preparations continued at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper as they welcomed Montpellier for a game that had a clear blaugrana flavour from the off, with Pere Romeu's side going 2-0 up in just 10 minutes.
First Esmee struck an unstoppable shot past Petiteau, before Ewa Pajor showed her talent with a great piece of individual play to also put past the visiting keeper (2-0, min. 11).
The Polish forward then turned provider - first for Rolfö who made it 3-0 after 35 minutes, before setting up Bruna to score the fourth just before half time (min. 44). Rolfö then returned the favour after the break as Pajor showed her goalscoring prowess to complete her brace (5-0, min. 53).
The rest of the second half saw the blaugranes dominate. Pere Romeu's side had the chance to score another goal, but the ball wouldn't go in. Montpellier had their only shot on goal late in the game and found it difficult throughout to impose their game on the home side. Final score 5-0.
