Emma Stina Blackstenius is a Swedish professional footballer who plays as a forward for Arsenal in the English Women's Super League and the Sweden national team.
Her step sister Nina Koppang represents Sweden in handball.
She studied economics at Kungshögaskolan in Mjölby.
She, her brother and father are the only ones in Sweden with the surname Blackstenius.
Until she was 17, she played handball alongside football. But she brings things from handball that are also applicable in football - like the ability to make quick decisions.
In the 2025 UWCL final, she scored the only goal of the match, helping Arsenal win the European championship for the first time in 18 years.
She is nicknamed Stina Ballerina among Arsenal fans.
Her closest teammates are Laura Wienroither and Frida Maanum. With Frida, they also previously played together for Linköping.
Saturday offered only the match between Arsenal and Liverpool, but that match alone provided several stories. Stories of comebacks, debuts, and comebacks.
Arsenal dominate at the King Power Stadium with a 4–1 win over Leicester City. Their dominance was clear from the start. Alessia Russo opened the scoring early, putting Arsenal ahead in the 7th minute. A 32nd-minute own goal by Leicester’s Sari Kees made it 2–0 in favour of Arsenal. Before half-time, Stina Blackstenius struck in the 36th minute to make it 3–0.  Leicester pulled one back late through NoĂ©mie Mouchon in the 83rd minute. Blackstenius sealed the result with her second goal in the 84th minute, closing out the match at 4–1.Â

Stina, Stina, Stina Blackstenius. She scores a goal, she scores a goal for Arsenal. Every Arsenal and Swedish national team fan knows this chant. With three goals and one assist, she is the most successful Swedish player at Euro 2025. What is the story behind the footballer who decided the Champions League final?
On the third day of the European Championship, Sweden will face Denmark. They will have the chance to avenge their 6-1 and 5-1 defeats in the Nations League, where Sweden beat their Nordic neighbors twice. Newcomers to the competition, Poland, will face Germany. They will have a very difficult task, as Germany is historically the most successful team in the Euro. Which players to focus on?
Denmark - Pernille Harder
Once the most expensive player in the world, a Ballon d'Or nominee, and captain of the Danish team, she is known for her incredible goal-scoring instinct. She has been very successful at club level, with every team she has played for over the last ten seasons winning the title. What's more, she will be playing against her fiancée Magdalena Eriksson, who plays for Sweden.
Sweden - Stina Blackstenius
Who else but the heroine of this year's Champions League final? In the last match between Sweden and Denmark, which took place a month ago in Stockholm, she scored a hat trick against Denmark. Blackstenius also made her mark a few days ago against Norway. Blackstenius is proving that those who doubted her were wrong.
Poland - Ewa Pajor
With 25 goals, Ewa Pajor is the top scorer of the last season in League F. Not BonmatĂ, not Putellas, but Pajor from Poland. She is the first player ever to score a hat trick in the women's El Clásico. She also played a major role in Poland's participation in the European Championship, helping the team advance in the playoffs.
Germany - Ena Mahmutovic
Perhaps a slightly unusual choice for Player to Watch. Mahmutovic is not Germany's number one goalkeeper, but she is definitely a player who will be talked about in the future. The Bayern Munich player stepped in for their traditional number one, Mala Grohs, who was undergoing treatment for a tumor during the season. And she succeeded—thanks in part to the young goalkeeper, Bayern won the title. Now she has received her first nomination for the Euro. Definitely a promise of a successful future.
