Melvine Marie Ericka Malard is a French professional footballer who plays as a forward for English Women's Super League club Manchester United and the France national team.
Her first sport was handball, which she played with her sister. However, despite enjoying it, she knew her real passion was football.
She started playing football with her friends in a park near her home in Réunion. She found joy in scoring goals and sharing the ball with her friends, which motivated her to get more involved in the sport.
Her first club was Saint-Denis FC, one of the best clubs in Réunion. She spent her entire childhood there and never switched clubs until she joined Olympique Lyonnais.
She always played with boys, whether at school, in the park, or at the club. This shaped her strong personality and "tomboy" nature, which helped her not let anyone walk over her.
Early in her career, she was made captain, playing as a central defender. She proudly talks about how this motivated her to continue in the sport.
She used to have posters of famous players like Wendie Renard and Franck Ribéry, who inspired her in her game.
She also tried out several different sports, including boxing, tennis, and karate.
She and her partner like travelling together.
