Manssita Aissatou Traoré is a French forward who plays for RC Strasbourg Alsace in France’s Arkema Première Ligue and has represented her country at youth level up to the France U23s.
She is a product of PSG youth academy.
Her first taste of organised football came at a club in Gagny run by her uncle, who invited her to “test” the sport – once she touched the ball there, she says she knew football was for her.
As a young player she often trained and played with boys’ teams, only switching fully to women’s sides around 14–15, and says she preferred to “let the pitch talk” when some boys did not want her in their team.
Her football idols growing up were France internationals Kadidiatou Diani and Élodie Thomis – she loved their mix of technique, power, pace and dribbling – and she also enjoys watching Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappé.
She hopes to become a role model for young girls coming into football and says she would be “very happy” if they one day saw her that way.
