Mégane Hoeltzel is a French midfielder for RC Strasbourg Alsace in the Arkema Première Ligue and a former France youth international who has represented her country at youth level.

Her parents run a bakery–patisserie in Wissembourg, and local media note that she frequently returns home on off days, where customers recognize her as “the Racing player” as well as the bakers’ daughter.

She comes from a football family: her father coached her brother, and she first joined in on their sessions before joining a club at six years old.

At just 15, she became a regular starter in Division 2 with Vendenheim.

She has studied at in Strasbourg toward becoming a physical trainer, keeping her future tied to sport.

Her football idol growing up was Paul Pogba: she cites his charisma and passing range as inspirations, but describes herself as much more calm and reserved in everyday life.

Her matchday soundtrack is very specific: Strasbourg’s women didn’t really have a victory song, but before every game they blasted “Piano” by Naza feat. Keblack in the dressing room.

She suffered meningitis at the start of the 2024–25 season, was placed in a coma and sidelined for over three months.
