Rebecca “Becky” Spencer is a Jamaican professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Chelsea and Jamaica national team.
Her father Walter is Jamaican and she decided to represent Jamaica on senior level, although she was born in England and represented Engalnd in youth levels
She made her debut for Jamaican national team when she was 30 years old (in June 2021 in a friendly game against Nigeria)
She was first-choice goalkeeper for Jamaica national team during FIFA Women's World Cup 2023, where Jamaica for the first time in history proceeded from group stage
In 2023, she publicly critized Jamaica Football Federation for poor organization and management, lack of communication and delayed payments
In 2009, she won UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship with England. In five appereances, she kept five clean sheets. England had become the first team in history to win this tournament without conceding
She didn’t always want to play in goal, initially she played football as a midfielder
She is the youngest of five siblings, all her three sister played football too
She is a Manchester United fan
In her spare time she likes to spend time with her family and friends
