Olivia Smith is a Canadian professional football player who plays as a forward for Women's Super League club Arsenal and the Canada national team.
Smith played volleyball, basketball and other sports in middle school, but soccer was her first love, having being introduced to the game at age three by her father.
She also did taekwondo for several years which she believes helped her with her power and technique.
During her youth career, she played for five different clubs before joining Canada Soccer National Development Centre in Ontario.
In 2019, she became the youngest player ever - male or female - to debut for the Canada senior national team at 15 years and 94 days old.
While playing in the semi-professional League1 Ontario, she won the Golden Boot after leading the league in scoring with 18 goals, while only appearing in 11 games.
After one year at Penn State, she decide to forgo the rest of her scholarship to fulfill her dream of becoming a professional player in Europe.
She is able to play attacking midfield as well as a forward or winger.
Smith’s first game for the senior national team was against Brazil and her idol Marta, who she had met as an 11 year-old in Montreal at the 2015 World Cup.
Her other inspirations are Christine Sinclair and Ronaldinho.
She is of Jamaican, Chilean and Peruvian descent.
If she weren't a footballer she would like to be a photographer or a videographer.
Her favorite movie is Goal!
