Mayssa Baha Abelhadj is a Moroccan footballer, born in Málaga, Spain, who plays as a forward. She represents Morocco at youth international level.
Mayssa was already chasing her older brother’s football around the courtyard of a building in Barcelona when she was only one or two years old.
Her dad, former Morocco international Nabil Baha, is effectively the family’s “first coach” at home, helping Mayssa with both football and the mental demands of high-level sport.
Her older brother Ziyad Baha is also a forward and a Morocco youth international; the siblings regularly advise each other, with Mayssa looking up to him and Ziyad taking a protective role with his younger sister.
She was only 12 when she left the family home to continue pursuing her football development away from her parents.
At 14, Mayssa was the youngest player at the entire 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. Her two goals against Costa Rica at that World Cup made her the youngest goalscorer in the competition’s history.
Fashion is another family interest. Mayssa and her mother bond over clothes and style, giving them something very different from football to share.
