Savannah Marie DeMelo is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Racing Louisville FC of the National Women's Soccer League.

She first wanted to be a dolphin trainer, then a nurse like her mom, before deciding to pursue professional soccer.

Her dream to play pro soccer began at her first college showcase and was inspired by the growing women's game and LA Sol's Marta.

Her favorite part of being a pro soccer player is the fun environment and traveling with her teammates.

The coolest place soccer has taken her is Australia, where she scuba-dived in the Great Barrier Reef during a youth tournament trip.

She hopes to visit Croatia, inspired by Game of Thrones, and New Zealand.

In Louisville, her go-to coffee shop is Quills, where she orders an oat milk iced vanilla latte with light ice.

She admits she might be the worst driver among her teammates.

She was a gymnast until age eight and started playing soccer seriously at nine, drawn by its team aspect.

She speaks Portuguese, thanks to her father, Robert, a former Portuguese soccer player.

She has dual citizenship and could have played for Portugal but chose the U.S.

She also played volleyball and basketball.

Her father was her first coach.

In college, she had to miss her junior season because of an injury. She tore her Achilles tendon and thought that her soccer career was over.

She has two sisters, Makayla and Skylar.

Cristiano Ronaldo is her biggest sports hero.

Her favorite foods include pasta, steak, tacos, and salads.

Titanic is her favorite movie.

She enjoys watching Gossip Girl and How to Get Away with Murder.

She listens to Travis Scott's music.

She studied at the University of Southern California, earning a bachelor's degree in Health and Human Sciences.

She also earned a Master's degree in Public Health from USC.

She is from Long Beach, California.

She has a dog named Milo, though he doesn’t currently live with her.

She found a cat named Bootsie, who has essentially become hers.

She credits her skills to her dad, who practiced free kicks with her daily after school, acting as her ball shagger.

Her nickname is "Sav".

Her favorite place is Hawaii.
