Teagan Jade Micah is an Australian professional football player who plays as a goalkeeper for OL Lyoness and the Matildas.
She initially played Australian rules football growing up. She switched to football when she was 10 years old only because some of the boys from her team went there and she wanted to join them.
She started playing football as an outfield player but after growing pains in the knees she was put in goal where she could use her catching skills from AFL.
She trained with the Goalkeeping Australia Academy from the age of thirteen, in addition to playing for the Queensland Academy of Sport
Micah’s career was transformed by a college scholarship at UCLA, where she kept 36 clean sheets in 84 appearances. "I think I wouldn't be here playing football if I didn't go to America. I was struggling a lot before I left. I didn't know if I really wanted it."
She graduated with a degree in psychology from UCLA.
She has several tattoos that represent her sisters, relationship with her best friend and the Olympic games.
She likes going to the beach and travelling.
She usually travels with her Australian teammate Charli Grant. They have done over 25 trips together and it first started as a pre-game superstition when they sat next to each other on the bus. One of the top places still on their bucket list are the Swiss Alps.
In addition to big names like Jule Brand and Ingrid Engen, Australian national team goalkeeper Teagan Micah is heading to OL Lyoness.
