  • Ahead of UEFA Women’s Euro 2025, each England squad member was presented with a shirt from her first-ever football club during a special ceremony at St George’s Park on June 23, 2025.
  • 26 different grassroots and youth clubs were represented—including teams like Alnwick Town FC (Lucy Bronze) and Villarreal (Hannah Hampton who grew up in Spain)—highlighting their varied pathways into professional football.
  • Around 150 club coaches and players attended to see their former stars and celebrate the role local volunteers played in nurturing the talent.

Merle Frohms is heading to Real Madrid

  • Real Madrid officially signed German goalkeeper Merle Frohms on a three-year deal running from July 1, 2025, until June 30, 2028.
  • Frohms arrives from VfL Wolfsburg, where she won two UEFA Women’s Champions League titles (2013 & 2014), four Frauen-Bundesliga titles, and seven DFB-Pokal trophies.
  • This is Frohms’ first club experience outside Germany. She is expected to challenge current No. 1 Misa Rodríguez following the departure of Mylène Chavas.
