The transfer window has not even opened yet, but the rumours are already getting wild. And we also have new Champions of Europe. Most leagues and competitions may already be over, but this week was still packed with major stories.

Pajor finally made it

Barcelona Femeni are the new Champions of Europe. And this victory is special for Ewa Pajor. Polish striker reached the UWCL final five times.  Four times with Wolfsburg, once with Barcelona. When Ewa Pajor walked away empty-handed after last year’s defeat to Arsenal in her first season following her move to Barcelona, it almost felt as though she was cursed. But this year, she finally did it.

The Women’s Champions League final between Barcelona and Lyon took place in Oslo, Norway, and the Catalan giants dominated it with a 4–0 victory. Pajor played a huge role in the triumph, scoring twice herself. She could even have completed a hat-trick, but unselfishly squared the ball for Salma Paralluelo to score Barcelona’s third goal.

Whitehouse  saved the penalties, Charlton is going to WSL

WSL will welcome Birmingham City, Crystal Palace, and Charlton Athletic next season. While Birmingham and Palace secured automatic promotion, Charlton earned their place through a play-off victory over Leicester City.  A record crowd for Charlton Women packed into The Valley to watch the decisive match. The hero of the evening was Irish goalkeeper Sophie Whitehouse, who saved penalties to send Leicester down to WSL 2.

New transfer record this summer?

Remember Felicia Schröder, the Europa Cup top scorer who fired Häcken to the European title with a hat-trick in the final? The 19-year-old Swede finished last season as the Damallsvenskan’s top scorer and has also started becoming a regular with the national team.  Manchester City were interested in signing her, but Schröder instead extended her contract with Häcken, saying she wanted to remain in Sweden for now, where she still has the space to gain playing time and continue developing.

But her performances, especially that hat-trick in the UEFA Europa Cup final, have attracted even more interest from Europe’s biggest clubs. Chelsea have reportedly offered £1.2 million for the striker, which would set a new transfer record. Real Madrid are also said to be interested.

Spurs claimed Hammers' best striker

A number of top players are leaving Tottenham this summer. But we are also slowly beginning to learn who could replace them. Shekiera Martinez is joining Spurs from London rivals West Ham. For a West Ham side that only narrowly avoided relegation this season, it is a significant loss. Martinez was the club’s top scorer and also became the first West Ham player to win the Barclays WSL Player of the Month award in March 2025.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Jennifer Falk is returning to Häcken following her loan spell at Liverpool. The Swedish international joined the club in January and played a major role in helping Liverpool avoid relegation from the top flight. Liverpool offered Falk a permanent contract, but with her young daughter in Sweden, and after recently signing a new deal with Häcken, she will probably coming back home.

AS Roma completed the domestic double

After winning the league title, AS Roma’s women also lifted the Coppa Italia. In a tense final, they defeated Juventus, the side that ended Roma’s league dominance last season and were also the reigning cup holders. For a long time, it looked as though the match would not be decided in normal time. But in the 80th minute, Manuela Giugliano scored the only goal of the game to seal the trophy for Roma.

Klára Cahynová is here to stay in San Sebastian

While Atlético Madrid announced several departures, Real Sociedad confirmed that one of their key players, Czech midfielder Klára Cahynová, will not be going anywhere. She will remain at the club after helping Sociedad secure third place in Liga F,a finish that also earned them European football for next season.

The Czech national team captain has been in San Sebastián since the 2024/25 season and has established herself as an important part of the squad, regularly featuring in the starting lineup.
