The USWNT captain is returning home. She will join the newly formed NWSL club Denver Summit in the new season. This move is marking her return to the U.S. league for the club’s inaugural season.
- Heaps has been the USWNT captain since 2023 and has earned around 170 caps, boasting a decorated international résumé including a 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup title and a 2024 Olympic gold medal.
- Heaps is coming back to NWSL after four seasons in Lyon. At club level she has starred in the NWSL with Portland Thorns FC, winning an NWSL Championship.
- She has also achieved success in Europe. With Lyon, she won several domestic trophies and in 2022 even the most prestigious one – the Champions League title.
