Juventus won Super Cup for the fifth time

Cristiana Girelli's goal helped Juventus win the Italian Cup for the fifth time in history. They defeated AS Roma 2:1 in the final.

• Juventus overcame an early deficit, when Roma opened the score in 23rd minute with goal by Manuela Giugliano. Danish international Amalie Vangsgaard scored an equalizer in the end of first period. The thrilling and evenly matched game was decided at the end of regular time by Girelli, who scored the much-desired goal with a backheel past Rachele Baldi.
• Juventus qualified for the Super Cup after winning the double last season, with Roma participating as Coppa Italia runners-up. The Super Cup triumph adds to Juventus Women’s domestic success, reinforcing their position as one of Italy’s top women’s football clubs. However, they are currently behind their opponents by five points in Serie A table.
