Daphne van Domselaar is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Arsenal and the Dutch national team.
She played volleyball as a child. She believes the skills she learned there can be used for goalkeeping.
She started playing soccer at the age of 11, until then she played volleyball and other various sports.
Her childhood hero is Lieke Martens.
Her role models are goalkeepers Sandra PaΓ±os and Mary Earps.
She was the only Eredivisie player included in 2022 The Guardian's annual list of the 100 best female football players in the world.
She recalls her best save was against France at Euro 2022, describing how she stopped a header from Renard and thinking, "how did I save that?"
Her grandpa was a football referee.
She is also passionate photographer. It all started when her sister got her a camera.
Daphne is really into jigsaw puzzle and lego. She owns some lego sets, such like globe.
She used to play the guitar a bit and, according to her, she would like to learn it again. She has one guitar at home, but says she hasn't touched it yet.
