In March 2026, Internacional confirmed that Eskerdinha suffered an ACL and meniscus injury in her right knee during a Brasileirão Feminino match against Atlético-MG.

“Eskerdinha” comes from the Portuguese word esquerda (“left”), a reference to her role as a left-sided player/full-back. The playful “-inha” ending makes it roughly translate to “little lefty.”

She left home at a young age to pursue football and later said the pandemic was one of the rare moments she could spend extended time with her mother and grandmother again.

Her pet chow-chow is named Yuri.

She spent seven years playing futsal before fully transitioning to outdoor football. She has spoken about how futsal taught her improvisation and close control in tight spaces before moving into 11-a-side football.
